GARDEN, LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT

About us

Ecological Restoration Co. has been operating since 1992. We design and provide advice about landscapes based on your site's conditions and capability. We observe your site, note its attributes and restrictions and listen to your needs and dreams.

Sometimes, a plan is prepared; at other times, advice and direction is needed. In other instances, a report/management plan is required often as a condition for a development application. The report  might be holistic, e.g. bushland management plan or specifically focused, e.g. flora inventory, weed assessment, tree identification and management, habitat management or erosion and sediment control

At other times, we can just commence work; for example, weed, prune, construct, mulch and plant. It really depends on the circumstances. We observe the situation, listen to the client and adapt accordingly to recommend something that you will enjoy and appreciate as the landscape matures over the following years.

We pride ourselves on our training, skills and knowledge that transfer into a quality outcome.

Michael Clarke

Born and raised in Sydney,

Michael graduated from the University of Western Sydney (Hawkesbury) in Horticultural Science. He majored in landscaping and natural area management and today these two passions intertwine through his works.

Upon graduation, he purchased a farm in Northern NSW on the volcanic basalt flows associated with Mt. Warning. In these early days, he worked on an avocado orchard and nursery,  installed a macadamia orchard and worked in the Sydney Basin managing bushland restoration projects for ‘The National Trust of Australia’

As well, he has operated a horticultural/environmental consultancy service focusing on landscape assessments and writing management plans for government, community and private clients. He has also held advisory roles as an independent panel member to local and state government.

For 26 years, Michael has also been employed as a horticulture and environment teacher with a government agency. Michael’s experiences have engendered a fascination and appreciation for gardens, the environment, flora, fauna, culture and the connections people share with the land.
